In answer to your question (pardon the bluntness, but it comes from the heart)

My favorite gift is sex. Raw, unbridled joy, sex.

Having that special lovemaking knowing it is freely given, without bounds, no guilt, and give and get...now that is a gift, and how.

Hot damn! I did not know life could be this good! (blushing). I am just turned 40, and have just learned the value of this gift. Passion, love, in the physical sense, the BEST GIFT OF ALL!

It is joyfull, healing, unblemished, sweet surrender. How nice...

I make no apology for this one, we all need it, we all want it, we all enjoy it in is purest form. It is the most stolen moments that the jw's steal from us....

and should be the most intimate aned fought for. Unbridled joy felt with our mate....the most precious gift I have found.

he suggests that the whole theology of vindication came from rutherford himself, getting thrown in prison.. .

in addition, i note that channelc seems to have a recent influx of long term witnesses concerned about the bible.

DA'ing coming up, to speak out now or not?

hi there, i know its up to me in the end, but just wondering, what would most of you do?

my da'ing could be tonight, should i take the opportunity (before they can no longer speak to me ) to tell a few jw's that i am being da'd for telling the truth, or not to bother.

does it matter anyway.

"The truth never hurt nobody" is a common expression here.

Personally, I feel you should stand up and be counted. Calm yourself, and walk right up to the podium. Speak your peace in a calm and rehearsed fashion. The congregation will be in shock but they will have no choice but to listen. Folks will actually wake up and take note. They feel the same as you do. WHo knows, you may start a rebellion.

Suicide

my 30-year old daughter committed suicide on 11-13-2004. we had both been jw's who had left the borg.

she had been diagnosed as bipolar.

i did a search from the top of the page to see if this topic has been covered but it did not work.

I remember the very moment that everything finally clicked for me. That the OT pointed to Jesus, that the nwt is the only "bible" that doesnt jive, that the heart of christianity was cut and mutilated beyond recognition in the jw version..

I remember my first communion, I broke down and bawled! Unbridled Joy is the only way to describe what I felt on that Sunday Morning.

As someone else stated, my emphasis is on sprituality and not religion and rules. That to me is the reason Jesus came here, to Free us from the chains of mans rules and regulations, not to add more to the list.

having a hard time making friends

i was wondering if anyone else has had a hard time making friends since leaving the organization.

being raised as a jw, it seems difficult to me, as i was never allowed to have any friends who weren't other jw's.

as a result, i have isolated myself to only my immediate family.

Welcome to JWD HappyCamper!

You know, most all ex-jw's struggle with this issue. I think that is why many of us feel so at home on this forum. You must realize that you (and we) were taught that we were "special" people, more important and closer to god than any other group on the planet! Everyone will die a spectacular death "any day now"! But not us. No, not us. As long as we follow the instruction manuals, don't piss off the elders, and keep our hours high, we are paradise bound.....

The rest of the world is labeled in all kinds of ugly terms. We were brainwashed to believe that all non-jw's were "worldly, wicked,evil, goat-like, and bird food"... When someone is taught those things from a young age, over many years and five times per week, fear of outsiders sets in.

When someone finally breaks free from these teachings, it is usually alone. It is hard to do without support of friends and family. The watchtower knows this, and this is why shunning is used. To isolate you and make you stick with 'em.

Here is my advice. First, congratulate yourself for your intelligence and bravery. So many jw's live their entire lives in fear of living. They never come to understand that they were being misled. There are MANY folks here on JWD, who served the tower for decades and lossed so much when they broke free. Their stories are inspirational and strengthening for your spirit, and I hope you will read about them. They have gone on to help others in your position and understand exactly what you are going through.

Try to minimize any guilt you feel. You didnt make the rules and you never had the power to change them for anyone but yourself.

Reaching out to humanity outside your group helps too. Life experience is the best teacher. Try to find a good charity to volunteer for such as habitate for humanity, or a food bank. You will meet many other people of all walks of life and come to understand that the fear of outsiders is totally unfounded.

I think you being here around others that understand the unique problems associated with the watchtower will help you tremendously. Many here meet in person, chat on the phone, email, and snail mail. I hope you make many new friends and get the support that you need and deserve.

If it is alright with you, I will count you as my friend! Theres a start. Now get out there and start living!!!!

JW Tsunami Report - rest of quote worth reading

you may remember i posted two days ago about a ten-page jw tsunami report that was e-mailed to me.

it consisted of about three separate letters.

since the report was so long, i tried to copy and paste some of the quotes from a word document and only got two out of seven.

What a small minded, vindictive, self serving gawd these folks have created for themselves to worship!

Such ignorance in this day in age is astounding. Worse, this is not a regional theology, but another import from the hate mill from america aka the watchtower society. Is it any wonder that many countries are fighting so hard to keep these sick cults from being established? Every time I hear someone refer to the jw's as "christian" I want to scream.

At any rate, thanks for the quotes Bonnie-Clyde. I figured such statements would be forthcoming. Of course this is the work of "those who ran ahead" and the watchtower society will shrug their shoulders in innocence as to how their members come to such conclusions right?
